IFWTWA Blogs

IFWTWA strives to be a gathering point and resource base for an active membership composed of professionals engaged in the food, wine and travel writing as well as our associated members from supporting industries. As such, we felt a blog created by our members would stimulate conversation that would benefit all members. Once the Blog Committee got started discussing possible topics, we decided our first blog topic, Perks of Being a Food, Wine & Travel Writer was something we couldn’t resist sharing with the public.

Public

The public is more than welcome to follow along with our blog. We’re sure to accumulate vast amounts of very useful information. We also encourage you to comment on the blogs, ask our authors questions which they may then answer in their next post or directly to your comment. The only prerequsite is that you become a member of Google’s Blogger community. It’s free! You will be asked to do so when you click the "Comment" link beneath the blog you wish to comment on.

• Totally Food Wine & Travel (223)

  Our authors are professional writers and members of IFWTWA posting their observations and commentary about food, wine and travel. We welcome questions from members and non-members and look forward to providing our insight. Both Regular, Associate and Student Members will be contributing posts.

• Tips and Resources for Writers (40)

  In a past issue of Press Pass we had a feature on magazines that will take your article and pay well. In each upcoming issue, we will continue to provide, as we always have, new possibilities for your stories. For this BLOG, we would like to focus on tips or difficulties you have with placing your material. We hope other members, including associates will reply to your comments.

  We are happy to post product reviews related to food wine and travel. We are fortunate to experience many products in our experiences and like to share our thoughts.

  See the latest events, activities, and news from our Associate Members. In addition, this is where CVBs, PR firms, and others industry professional may list one post. Once they are Associate Members, they can have unlimited posts. We will also include posts when IFWTWA is in the news.

• IFWTWA Media Trips (18)

  We will post information on IFWTWA media trips, conferences and regional meetings along with media trips Associate Members are sponsoring and would like to publicize to our membership.

• IFWTWA Media Trip Results (11)

  Posting here is limited to Media Trip Committee members only. The blog posts contain specifics about past IFWTWA Media Trips including attendance, links to resulting published articles, comments from hosts, photos, etc. Participants are urged to email information to mediatrip.clips@ifwtwa.org for inclusion in this blog.

• Excellence Award Recipients (23)

  The IFWTWA Excellence Awards program recognizes the world’s finest travel and tourism industry professionals as experienced and nominated by the organization’s journalist members. Nominations are carefully evaluated by IFWTWA’s Excellence Awards Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. Categories include: Desitnation Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary, Beverages, and Tourism. Additional categories of Professional Journalism and Emerging Writers recognize exellence among non-member travel, food and wine writers.
