In September, 2009, the IFWTWA was invited to tour the historic cities of Richmond and Charlottesville in beautiful Virginia.

Host Quote:  The Richmond Region was delighted to host the IFWTWA writers in the fall of 2009. From segways to ”Unhappy Hours” at the Poe Museum, from cooking classes to rare books, the group was enthusiastic throughout and their passion shown through in the articles that appeared following the trip. We were able to develop special relationships during the media tour and continue to stay in regular touch with our IFWTWA friends. ~Erin Bagnell, Public Relations Manager, Richmond CVB

In May, 2009, a select group of IFWTWA writers were invited to explore the Vermont countryside and uncover its region beauties.

Host Quote: “Woodstock, Vermont was priviledged to host a number of representatives from the IFWTWA. The journalists visited area attractions as well as food and lodging establishments, taking in all that the region has to offer while becoming a part of the community. Then came the informative and wonderful write ups that thoroughly described Woodstock’s virtues, features, and spirit. Thank You IFWTWA!” ~ David Kanal, Woodstock Chamber of Commerce

Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Alabama, November, 2010

Sunday, July 17th, 2011 — posted by MediaTrip Clips

In November, 2010, members of the IFWTWA were invited to visit the Gulf Shore region to see firsthand the Alabama coast and to explore the inherrent beauty of the region.

Host Quote: “Part of our pro-active public relations plan for Fall 2010 was to host qualified journalists in our Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area who would gain an accurate understanding of our beach destination following the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Together with the Beenders-Walker Group, our CVB quickly arranged a November trip with the IFWTWA and was immediately impressed by this group during the planning process. These writers visited our area with an eagerness to learn about the destination with an open-mind. Throughout our press trip, these writers conducted themselves in an extremely professional and gracious manner while paying attention to the smallest details to gather unique story ideas. The press coverage continues to appear in quality publications. It was our honor to host the IFWTWA, and I have the utmost respect and gratitude for this group of writers.” ~ Kim Chapman, Public Relations Manager, Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism

Temecula, California – May, 2010

Thursday, May 5th, 2011 — posted by MediaTrip Clips

In May, 2010, 10 writers from IFWTWA were invited to partake of the rural charm of this San Diego County area, fast becoming known as a wine destination.

Host Quote: “Temecula Press Tours in cooperation with the Temecula Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau and Temecula Creek Inn hosted ten IFWTWA members in May 2010 for four days. As the planner of this trip, I am delighted with the results. Each press person, each day, was on time, attentive, and engaged with the daily schedule. I appreciated their professionalism, which included extensive note taking, photography, video, and focused questions. I liked that their was an IFWTWA group leader attending who I could go to discuss changes, needs, and options. I felt that as individuals and as a group they came with a sense of direction and commitment to produce articles that would showcase our wine region’s considerable attributes. As a result of their visit, there were no less than 15 quality articles published. For me, it was a great return on a considerable investment. I plan to make this an annual invitation.”
