Seattle

Select members of the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association converged on the Seattle area in June, 2011 to explore this fabulous city by the water.

Host Quote: “Hosting the IFWTWA presented my company with a great opportunity to share our passion for Seattle while highlighting our food touring business to a group of like minded journalist from around the world. Very rarely do you have an opportunity as a small business owner to promote your company to such a large group of influential food lovers. We’ve already begun to see the benefits of hosting the group, with the first article being published just weeks after the FAM tours.”~ Michael Rogers, Seattle Food Tours LLC

Alaska – Conference at Sea

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011 — posted by MediaTrip Clips

During June and July, 2011, members of IFWTWA held their annual conference on Holland America Cruise Lines. Members had professional development classes on board the ms Westerdam, and enjoyed ports of call including Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan, as well as a brief stop in Victoria, British Columbia. Though not strictly a press trip, many members wrote articles about their time in Alaska.

Host Quote: “We’ve successfully worked with IFWTA on two cruises to Mexico and Alaska in the past couple of years.  The organization has been professional and has produced a number of quality journalists for each sailing.  We appreciate the positive coverage about our cruise line but also value the ease in which we have been able to plan and execute media groups with IFWTA.  We look forward to their return.”  ~Erik Elverjord, Director of Public Relations, Holland America Line

In September, 2009, the IFWTWA was invited to tour the historic cities of Richmond and Charlottesville in beautiful Virginia.

Host Quote:  The Richmond Region was delighted to host the IFWTWA writers in the fall of 2009. From segways to ”Unhappy Hours” at the Poe Museum, from cooking classes to rare books, the group was enthusiastic throughout and their passion shown through in the articles that appeared following the trip. We were able to develop special relationships during the media tour and continue to stay in regular touch with our IFWTWA friends. ~Erin Bagnell, Public Relations Manager, Richmond CVB
